How to Select a Role

Some employees may be assigned multiple Roles at a single Location. For example, at a restaurant one employee could work as both a dishwasher and a busboy. When starting a Shift, an employee with multiple Roles will need to choose which Role they are working for that Shift.

Note:

Employees can only be Clocked In for one Shift at a time. If they are working multiple Shifts using different Roles in one day – for example as both a server and a bartender – they will need to Clock Out of their server Shift before they can start a Shift as a bartender.

POS User

To select a Role, the employee should first enter their PIN on the Lock Screen. If the employee is a POS User, is not currently Clocked In for a Shift, and has been assigned multiple Roles, they will be taken to the Timeclock Prompt Screen after they enter their PIN number. On the Prompt Screen, they will need to press the Clock In Button. They will then be directed to the Select a Role Screen where they can see each of the Roles assigned to them.

Next, the employee will need to tap on the Role they wish to Clock In as. They will be taken to the Timeclock Screen where they can continue to Clock In.

Non-POS User

If the employee is a Non-POS User, is not currently Clocked In for a Shift, and has been assigned multiple Roles, they will be automatically taken to the Select a Role Screen. The employee can then tap on the Role they wish to Clock In as. They will then be taken to the Timeclock Screen where they can continue to Clock In.
